Shock waves hit the Internet tonight as NASA announced what may very well be their most important discovery to date: a pineapple on Mars.
The pineapple in question appeared on an image taken by the Mars rover Curiosity dated February 3, 2014. Remarkably, none of the popular UFO-hunting websites noticed, leaving NASA to come forward with the discovery on their own.

It remains unclear how an Earth-based species of tropical fruit may have found its way onto the Red Planet. In a press conference this evening, NASA denied claims that someone left the pineapple with the Curiosity rover before takeoff.
It’s all very puzzling, indeed, and scientists are working around the clock to explain the anomaly.
NASA has also called in San Francisco-based psychic detective Shawn Spencer and his partner, Bruton Gaster, to analyze the images, on the off chance that the object may be some kind of telepathic beacon from another dimension that simply looks like what we would call a pineapple.
Spencer has previously worked with the Santa Barbara, California police department on a number of occasions, and his expertise will no doubt shine some light on this compelling space mystery.
“One thing is certain,” says Curiosity Deputy Project Scientist Ashwin Vasavada, “If that is a pineapple, and if alien life forms do exist on Mars, then it’s a sure bet that they’re fans of delicious flavor.”
